Nice Day for a ‘Stache Wedding

wedding1

Wedding season is upon us. Time for open bar, cake and inappropriate dancing by old people who’ve had a few too many vodka gimlets. Want to make your wedding totally amazingly awesome? How about having a moustached wedding party. We think it’s a great idea! People match their bridal parties down to the shoes so why not have them coordinate their facial hair as well. To make the maid of honor and best man stand out have them wear a fu manchu while the rest of the bridal party rocks a handlebar. Some people go so far as making all their wedding guests don a stache. Now that’s a wedding we’d like to to be invited to. Check out these photos at mergewedding.com and for more about moustached weddings visit offbeatbride.com

Finger ‘Stache

This week on the always entertaining show the bachelorette one of the potential bachelors drew a moustache on Jillian’s finger.  It was either because of that or the fact that his face looked like an ass that he wasn’t given a rose.

Some people are so crazy for moustaches that they are tattooing them on their fingers. Fingerstache.com  is a site where fingerstachers can upload photos and discuss their tattoos. We think the finger staches are cool and all but if you were really serious about having a ’stache you would just tattoo it on your face.

Beard Tax

tax

April 15 = Tax Day is upon us…

Browsing through the HuffingtonPost today…we came across an odd little tidbit about the Beard Tax from the early 1700’s. HuffPo says:

Tsar Peter I was one of history’s great tax enthusiasts. His taste in taxes was fairly eccentric, and he is know to have taxed everything from beehives to beards. In an effort to regulate his countrymen’s appearance, Peter the Great introduced a special tax on the latter item in 1705. With the exception of the clergy, anyone with a beard was required to pay for the right to sport facial hair.

Hey Pete…Nice ‘Stache!

The Milk moustache is cool and all but it doesn’t last. These pint glasses from Bread and Badger give you a moustache every time you take a sip.

‘Straight Up’ Paula Abdul ‘Stache

abdul-682_765640ajpg

I haven’t watched American Idol since Kelly Clarkson won, though caught this news earlier today and just had to report. Apparently on last night’s show Paula got straight up ‘Stached by Simon. He used a Sharpie marker to detail Abdul’s upper lip. Love It!

Your Moustache Brings All the Girls to the Yard

brad-pitt-stache-5

2009 is the year of the ’stache…everyone is talking about it! Yeah yeah I know some people were penning this in late 2008 here, here and here - but its still going strong and we are not convinced this massive trend is over yet - I mean have you seen Joaquin lately??? We love it! Read this New York Times article from a few months ago in their Style section. They spell it sans the “o” but we will let it slide.
